Therapeutic Intervention
Our Therapeutic Intervention focuses on the personal, social and emotional development of skills for our clients. Targeted skills are taught in group settings to ensure that clients can have high quality of life both in the short and the long term.
The essential skills students need to be able to make friends, function safely in their community, communicate their needs and wants, and regulate their emotions in a healthy way are crucial for our clients.

Students at QUADRA are each supported to develop social skills that are personally relevant to them and their families. This can range from early learner skills like approaching a peer and sharing items, all the way to conversational skills and long term friendships. Each students goals are individualised, taught in research-based ways, and data tracked every session.

Communication is one of the most important skills in a persons life. Communication happens every day, and there are many levels that a person can attain, but every person can learn to communicate in their own way. Communication is one of the highest priorities at QUADRA, especially teaching students to self-advocate and make their needs known.
-
Many of the clients we work with have behaviours that stop them from accessing social and learning experiences. Students having the skills to be safe in the environment ensures that their world remains rich and full of opportunity. We work on teaching children the skills they need to be successful, while ensuring we honour their needs as they communicate them.

Clients who are able to stay regulated while they learn, socialise and communicate are most likely to be successful. Regulation isn’t one thing for one person, it required the skills of communication and personal safety to work in an interconnected way, for clients to advocate their needs, stay safe, and know what they need to be successful. We work with students to move from co-regulation, to self-regulation, while teaching them the skills to create an environment that supports them.

At QUADRA, our developmental programming supports individuals across the lifespan to build functional, adaptive, and socially meaningful skills. Programming is tailored using validated assessment tools, selected based on the client's age, developmental profile, and support needs. This ensures that each participant receives targeted, evidence-informed support aligned with their individual goals.
Following a comprehensive intake and assessment process, our team collaborates with families and support networks to establish developmentally appropriate goals. These goals focus on increasing independence, community participation, and quality of life, with an emphasis on promoting skill generalisation and long-term wellbeing in line with NDIS plan outcomes.

Children of high school age are supported to develop the skills they need to lead independent meaningful lives, such as budgeting, cooking, planning a schedule, cleaning and self-management skills.
